Questions to ask on a childcare tour

4 min read

A tour is your chance to see past the polished website and feel what daily life is actually like. Walk in with a short list of questions and you'll leave with a clear sense of whether a centre is right for your child.

On safety and staffing

Ask about educator-to-child ratios, how long educators tend to stay, and how the centre handles sign-in, allergies and medication. Stability and clear safety systems matter more than almost anything else.

On a typical day

Ask to see the daily rhythm — when children play, rest, eat and learn. Ask how the program is planned and how learning is shared with families.

On communication

How will you hear about your child's day? The best centres make daily communication effortless — photos, written updates, and easy conversations at pick-up.

Secure your child's place

Places at Discovery Nest are limited and filling ahead of opening. Join the waitlist — it takes two minutes, and we'll keep you close until a spot opens in your child's age group.
